Golf: Early 2009 Update

As we approach the end of March, I have already had the chance to play a few rounds of golf. I'm still a little rusty, but hit the ball relatively well.

Golf: Battlement Mesa Golf Course

While in Colorado I had the chance to play at a golf course called Battlement Mesa Golf Course in Parachute, CO. It was a fairly challenging course due to the break on the greens. I have included some pictures below of the course.

Golf: 18 Holes at Highland Springs

Last Saturday a group of 6 guys and girls from work went to Highland Springs Country Club just outside of Springfield to hit the links. We played a three man scramble through light showers all day. The outing was fun and relaxing. It was exceptional to play course that had some challenging holes with lots of elevation changes. I didn't play particularly well, but drove the ball with accuracy.

Golf: 18 Holes at Payne Stewart

I played 18 holes Wednesday afternoon out at the Bill & Payne Stewart Golf Course with a couple of friends, Phil and Chris. I drove the ball really well throughout the day, but struggled around the greens.

Golf: Nine Holes at Payne Stewart

I went out yesterday and played 9 holes at Payne Stewart in Springfield. I played the back nine in under an hour shooting two over for the afternoon. Plenty of pars were had with one birdie on hole 17.

Back from the Dead

Sounds like a B grade horror flick from the late 70's, but It's my return to the blog-o-sphere.

Here's the quick update...

  • Work has been going very well, despite the volatility in the market.
  • We have traveled quite a bit recently: St. Louis, Wichita, Kansas City, Branson, etc.
  • My golf game has been coming back, the more I play. I even had an eagle a few weeks back on Hole #1 at Payne Stewart in Springfield, MO.
  • We are expecting a Girl!
  • Darci and I celebrated our 8th anniversary on Monday (July 21st)

Colorado Golf = Massive Drives

While visiting Darci's parents this past weekend in Colorado I had the luxury of playing an amazing course outside of Grand Junction called Redlands Mesa Golf Course. This course has to be one of the best I have played. Almost every hole had a scenic view and some interesting challenges. The best part of the entire day was my rental driver (an extremely large King Cobra,) paired with the mountain altitude. I was hitting my drives between 280-350 yards all day long!!!
