Drumcorps - Grist
(Cock Rock Disco 2007)

I recently found this group on eMusic.com while I was browsing around. The CD was listed under electronic, but it is brooootal. Just imagine your favorite post-hardcore grind metal band remixed drum and bass style by the crew from Drumline. Yep, that pretty much sums it up. It is a little abrasive at times, yet still an interesting listen.

One Day As A Lion - One Day As A Lion EP
(Anti / Epitaph 2008)

Zach De La Rocha and Jon Theodore, better known as the mouth piece of Rage Against The Machine and the drummer of The Mars Volta, return with a five song EP under the name One Day As A Lion. The EP is driven by distorted keyboards, bass heavy drum grooves and the same ol' politics you would expect from Zach. http://www.myspace.com/onedayasalion

UNKLE - War Stories
(Surrender All 2007)

The evolution of UNKLE continues. Now with three full length records under his belt, James Lavelle has produced an eclectic dance rock record that is heavy with guitar and his famous friends. Guest spots include: Josh from Queens of the Stone Age, 3D from Massive Attack, Ian Astbury, that one dude from Eagles of Death Metal, Nada Surf, and more.

Wired All Wrong - Break Out The Battle Tapes
(Nitrus 2006)

When I heard about the prospect of Jeff Turzo from God Lives Underwater and Matt Mahaffey from Self/Beck teaming up to record I got a little giddy. After all these were two of my guilty pleasures from the high school days. The record sounds amazing and dives right into the world of loops, samples, keyboards and more.

Orange 9mm - Tragic
(Atlantic 1996)

I pulled this CD out of a box that had been unopened since I moved to Springfield last year. I love this record. It has raw aggression teamed with some angular grooves. I miss the noisy hardcore from the 90s, like Helmet, Snapcase, Unsane, Quicksand, Handsome, etc.
